For more info: (951)735-4098 Every year children suffer needlessly from preventable injuries and death in and around cars.  All too often, well meaning parents and care providers leave children in a car unaware of the dangers of doing so and what the tragic results might be.  Babies have been forgotten as well, only to be found after it is too late.  During the period January 1, 2000 – December 31, 2006, there was a minimum of 826 fatalities resulting from these preventable injuries.   4 R Kids Sake is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting our children from preventable injuries and death in and around cars through: awareness, education, legislation and prevention.  The organization was founded in September 2000, when our family suffered the tragic loss of our 6-month old baby girl, Kaitlyn, to such a preventable tragedy.   Kaitlyn was left behind and forgotten in her babysitter’s van in August of that same year.   We have gained the support and participation of fire departments, law enforcement agencies, hospitals, County and State agencies, schools, businesses and individuals across the United States, Puerto Rico, The U.S. Virgin Islands, Canada and England in helping us educate and increase awareness of the dangers surrounding the practice of leaving a child unattended in or around a car.   We actively participated in the passage of “Kaitlyn’s Law” in the State of California making it a citable offense to leave a child 6 years of age or younger in a vehicle without the supervision of someone at least 12 years of age.   “Purple Ribbon Month” – our largest awareness campaign of the year, is held annually during the month of August and is now recognized nationally and internationally.    They say that success is measured by results.  Thanks to the dedication and efforts of our many supporters, volunteers and residents of California, we are very proud to announce that California remained free of heat-related fatalities of children left in cars in 2006.  This is a first for California!   We need your help to continue our life-saving efforts!  In August , 2008, 4 R Kids Sake will be holding our second annual  charity crop and  silent auction fundraising event in Corona, CA.  We would like to invite you to participate in “An Angel’s Legacy Crop 2008" Minimum Suggested Donation:  $50 We request that you raise a minimum of $50 in order to participate. We hope you raise more. Have checks made payable to 4 R Kids Sake. All Donations are tax deductable. Suggestions for collecting donations: Give friends, family, neighbors, co-workers a purple ribbon to hang  in their yard or on their car for the month of August for a $5.00 donation.  Hand out small purple lapel ribbons to wear for the month f August for a $5.00 donation. We are also selling hours of music! One hour = $20, and 100% will be donated 4 R Kids Sake. Bring your own CD, or make a mix of songs and burn a CD!
